Ramsey County Jail Roster and Inmate Search
The Ramsey County Adult Detention Center roster is available online through the county's open data portal. The roster lists people currently held at the ADC and is updated on a regular basis. It shows booking dates, charges, and case status. This is one of the most direct ways to check whether someone is in Ramsey County custody.
The open data jail roster page is shown below. You can access it directly at opendata.ramseycountymn.gov. The data is public under Minnesota's Government Data Practices Act, which governs how arrest and booking records are released.
The roster is updated regularly and reflects current ADC population. If someone was recently released, they may no longer appear on the list. For older booking records, contact the Sheriff directly or use the BCA background check system.
You can also use VINELink to check custody status and set up automatic notifications if an inmate's status changes. This free service is available statewide and works for Ramsey County ADC inmates.

The screenshot below shows the OWS interface. You enter a name and the system returns any active warrant matches in Ramsey County.

The criminal history arrest reports page is shown below. Visit ramseycountymn.gov - Criminal History Arrest Reports to start a request.
To request a criminal history arrest report, you need to provide the full name of the subject, their date of birth, the number of copies you want, and the reason for the request. Requests are processed by the Sheriff's Office Administration division. Turnaround times vary. Contact (651) 266-0480 to ask about current processing times and any applicable fees.
These reports are governed by Minn. Stat. ยง 13.82, which covers the public availability of law enforcement records including arrest data, booking information, and case identifiers. Under this statute, certain arrest data is classified as public. Some data, including investigative details and data on juveniles, may be restricted.

The Minnesota Department of Corrections operates a public inmate search for people in state prison. If someone was convicted and is serving time in a state facility, search at coms.doc.state.mn.us/publicviewer/. This is separate from the county jail roster and covers state-sentenced offenders only.
